Overview
A 12-day, 100-hour foundation training in Tapovan, Rishikesh, run by Rishikesh Vinyasa Yoga School. It is the first half of their 200-hour course, taught alongside the same group, for people who have less time but still want a real, residential immersion.
You practise Ashtanga and Vinyasa twice a day and cover the foundations: shatkarma and pranayama, alignment and the craft of the vinyasa flow, plus philosophy, anatomy and meditation.
You arrive on the 1st, training runs from the 2nd to the 12th, and you check out on the 13th. A new group begins the 2nd of every month.

The training
Why this training
- A real teacher-training immersion in just 12 days, for people who can't take three full weeks yet.
- The setting is right. Tapovan sits above the crowds, a short walk from the Ganga, the ghats and the cafes.
- You learn both a form and a flow, the Ashtanga primary series and the craft of vinyasa sequencing, from the ground up.
- It is genuinely residential. You eat, sleep and practise on site with the 200-hour group, taught by the same experienced faculty.
- It is the first half of the 200-hour, so your 100 hours count toward the full Yoga Alliance RYT-200 whenever you come back to finish.

Full payment and refund policyQuestions, answered
Does the 100-hour make me a certified yoga teacher?
You receive a 100-hour certificate of completion from the school. Yoga Alliance registration starts at 200 hours, so the 100-hour counts as the first half: complete the other 100 hours later and you can register as an RYT-200.
Do I need to be experienced to join?
No. It is built for beginners as well as intermediate practitioners and starts from the ground up. A little familiarity with yoga helps with the pace, but it is not required.
How is this different from the 200-hour?
It is the same course and the same daily schedule, taught to the same group, for 12 days instead of 24. You cover the foundations; the full 200-hour goes deeper and carries the Yoga Alliance certification.
How many people are in a group?
Groups are kept small, up to twenty people, so the teachers can give you real attention and hands-on adjustment.
Is the accommodation and food included?
Yes. The price includes your room for 12 nights with an attached bathroom and hot shower, and three sattvic vegetarian meals a day during the course.
How do I pay, and how much upfront?
You pay a 30% deposit to confirm your place, in Rupees. The balance is settled with the school, and the deposit is non-refundable. You never pay the full amount online upfront.
Is it safe for solo female travellers?
Yes. This is a residential course with a small group, on-site staff and other students from around the world, and Rishikesh is one of the more comfortable places in India to travel solo. Tell us any concern and your co-host will talk it through before you book.
How far is the airport and can you arrange pickup?
The nearest airport, Dehradun (Jolly Grant), is about an hour away. Airport pickup and private taxis are available as an add-on you can choose when you book.
When do the courses start?
A new batch begins the 2nd of every month, all year round. Check-in is the 1st and you check out on the 13th.
What do I need to bring?
Comfortable clothes to practise in, a warm layer for mornings and evenings, modest clothing for temple visits, a notebook and your own toiletries. Mats and manuals are provided.
This school also runs the full 200-hour, plus 300 and 500-hour trainings. The 100-hour counts as the first half of the 200, so you can finish the Yoga Alliance RYT-200 later.
