Overview
A 5-day, 50-hour aerial yoga teacher training in Tapovan, Rishikesh, run by Rishikesh Vinyasa Yoga School. You learn to practise and to teach aerial yoga safely, using the silk hammock to support, deepen and lengthen the postures.
The course covers aerial fundamentals, anatomy and safety, how to build your own aerial flow, and real teaching practice. It suits complete beginners as much as yoga teachers who want to add aerial to what they offer.
You check in on the 25th, training runs to the 29th, and a new small group begins on the 25th of every month.

The training
Why this training
- You leave able to sequence and teach a full aerial class, not just to perform the poses.
- You finish Yoga Alliance certified and can teach aerial yoga anywhere that recognises it.
- You learn on the silks from the ground up, so no aerial or gymnastics background is needed.
- The focus is safety first: how to rig, how to spot, and how to keep a student safe in an inversion.
- The setting is right. Tapovan sits above the crowds, a short walk from the Ganga, the ghats and the cafes.
- It is genuinely residential, on site with all meals, taught by the school behind the 100, 200 and 300-hour trainings.

Full payment and refund policyQuestions, answered
Do I need aerial or gymnastics experience to join?
No. The course is built for complete beginners and starts from the ground up on the silks. A basic yoga practice helps you get more from the pace, but it is not required.
What certificate do I get?
A 50-hour aerial yoga certificate. The school is Yoga Alliance registered, so on completion you can teach aerial yoga anywhere that recognises Yoga Alliance.
What is aerial yoga?
Yoga practised with a soft silk hammock that hangs from the ceiling. It supports your weight so you can deepen stretches, decompress the spine and move into inversions more safely than on the mat.
Is it safe, and should anyone avoid it?
Yes, taught with safety first. Because it includes inversions, it is best to skip it, or check with your doctor first, if you have heart or blood pressure concerns, glaucoma, recent surgery, a back or neck injury, or if you are pregnant. Tell us any concern before you book.
How many people are in a group?
Groups are kept small so the teacher can give you real attention and spot you safely on the silks.
Is accommodation and food included?
Yes. The price includes your room with an attached bathroom and hot shower, and three sattvic vegetarian meals a day with herbal teas.
How do I pay, and how much upfront?
You reserve with a 30% deposit; the balance is settled with the school, and the deposit is non-refundable. Prices are shown for international students in US dollars and for Indian students in Rupees.
Is it safe for solo female travellers?
Yes. It is a small, residential group with on-site staff and students from around the world, and Rishikesh is one of the more comfortable places in India to travel solo. Tell us any concern and your co-host will talk it through before you book.
How far is the airport and can you arrange pickup?
The nearest airport, Dehradun (Jolly Grant), is about an hour away. Airport pickup and private taxis are available as an add-on you can choose when you book.
When does it run?
A new small group begins on the 25th of every month, all year round. Check-in is the 25th and you check out on the 29th.
The school also runs the 100, 200 and 300-hour Ashtanga and Vinyasa teacher trainings, plus a prenatal and postnatal course.
